Who can attend the Baking Is Our Business Conference?
Registration for this conference is open only to baking bloggers and content creators with verified media outlets such as websites and YouTube and social media channels.
What will the virtual experience be like?
Virtual participants will be able to view all instruction during the baking classes and the baking business sessions. They will also be able to ask instructors questions and chat with other virtual participants. Virtual participants will not be able to attend the events on the agenda indicated with an asterisk (*).
What if I can’t join virtually for all the sessions?
We will send recordings of all the baking classes and baking business sessions to all participants within one week of the retreat.
Where will the baking classes take place?
All baking classes and baking business sessions will be held in the Grand Bohemian’s state-of-the-art cooking school kitchen, just steps from your hotel room.
Are the baking classes hands-on?
Yes, all baking classes will be hands-on in a professional cooking school kitchen.
Who will be teaching the baking classes?
You’ll learn baking techniques and top tips for photo-worthy recipes directly from our editor-in-chief, Brian Hart Hoffman, the Bake from Scratch test kitchen team, and pastry chef Nicole Plue.
What should I plan to wear during baking classes?
Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Long hair should be pulled back. Aprons will be provided.
What does double-occupancy mean?
Double-occupancy packages are intended for two participants who plan to share one hotel room. You will be asked to state whom you will room with when you register. If you register for a double-occupancy package and your baking participant roommate does not register, you will be transferred to a single-occupancy package and charged for the difference in package prices.
If I book a double-occupancy package, will the hotel room have two beds?
Yes, all rooms booked as double-occupancy will have two queen beds, based on availability. Otherwise, two people may occupy a king room.
Can I extend my stay at the Grand Bohemian?
If you’d like to inquire about additional nights at the Grand Bohemian, please email Hannah Pellicer at hpellicer@hoffmanmedia.com.
Is breakfast included?

Transportation in a private coach will be provided to the group dinners on Wednesday and Thursday evening. Guests will be responsible for their own arrival and departure transportation to and from the Grand Bohemian in Birmingham. Guests will also be responsible for any transportation deviations they choose to make to/from the group dinner.
Will I feel safe baking in person with a group of people?
All in-person attendees must be fully-vaccinated, and we will follow all local guidelines for masking and social distancing that are in place at the time of the retreat. Our conference group will be naturally small due to the hands-on nature of the classes.
